Krystalrae Spring 2015

Spring 2015

The Inspiration

“[...] being able to act intelligently and instinctively in the moment is possible only after a long and rigorous course of education and experience”
— Malcolm Gladwell, Blink

Krystalrae calls her process “Present Designing.” It’s a constant ‘in the moment’ sketching until it feels right in search of finding the perfect fabric for each design. When she sees a print or trim she gets a gut feeling and goes with it. As this collection unfolded it displayed

Futuristic Elements + Details of the Past.

“Your View of the Future Is Shaped by the Past”
— Art Markman, Ulterior Motives

For Spring 2015, she continues her prints but in a subtle way—brush strokes, fine lines, and soft stripes. And for bold contrast, she combines them with psychedelic and holographic patterns.

“From collection to collection you can see the transformation in my designs. I’ve grown as a designer! Now the focus is designing for Chan + Krys.”
